Swimming Lessons

Allie has had swimming lessons this week. I think so far she would be content to never set foot in a pool again. She is taking from Ms. Barbara and Ms. B. She says every morning when we wake up that she doesn't want to go see Ms. Barbara put her lipstick on and Ms. B poke her lip out. I've figured out that the lipstick is actually the chapstick/sunscreen but have yet to dicifer the poking of the lip!
Below pretty much sums up our week. We have one day left and I'm trying to decide how best to reward her for being so obedient when she is so terrified!

1st day- Allie and Bounds
Bounds- 'I see my older brother do this Allie, I don't think it's gonna be all that bad!'

Allie- 'HELP!!!'
Charlie(other little boy crying)- 'HELP!!!!!'
Bounds- 'Somebody help these obnoxious kids please.'

Allie, Bounds and Charlie learning to kick.

2nd day on our way. (It took every muscle in my body to wrestle them in the car)
Allie and Parker taking a break from their constant screaming 'Take me back home Ms. Ginger, I don't like the pool'

2nd day, Allie surviving still. They basically have to force her arms and legs to swim.

Allie 'I wish you would quit taking pictures of me while I go through this 3 yr. old torture mechanism.'

Today I actually got to sit at the patio table and watch. The past days I have had to hide behind the fence because if your child is screaming they make you leave. Lovely. It better be worth it in the end!!!

okay ging,
I have to defend Allie on this one! Poor thing!!!
I hope you set expectations REALLY LOW for this week! :) No seriously, just getting them more and more familiar with the water will help in the long run. If you ever come to Yazoo long enough, AND REMEMBER TO CALL ME (shame on you :( ) I would teach Allie some to reinforce what she is learning. I am not "officially" teaching anyone this year, but certainly would love to work some with her!
Good luck tomorrow!

Tell Allie that I think she has done great with swimming. I have enjoyed swimming with her.
