I remember when Frank would knock on the door of my cute little Cotton District apartment and pick me up for the football game. We would be dressed nice, go tailgate for hours and have a blast with all our college friends. Our football team was actually good so the games were very enjoyable. Away games were worth paying for, driving too and cheering hard. All in all we just had a grand time with MSU football.
My how times have changed! Now, you throw on some blue jeans, hope that you don't smell like dirty diapers or spit up, pack everything but the actual house, grab your kids and off you go. Spend one hour, if your lucky, actually tailgating and another hour chasing kids, feeding kids, changing diapers, holding kids, then chasing them again. Off you go to the game to maybe see 4-5 plays and wonder why you thought this was a good idea in the first place. Wouldn't a pizza and ESPN have done the trick?
Well, the first picture here made it worth it. Allie had a ball, and never noticed she was watching it through the new jumbo tron construction. I wouldn't say Mary Elliott had a ball.... but she was definitely a trooper.
Thank GOODNESS that Poppi played baseball at State so we have M Club access. Mary Elliott doesn't sit still, so having a place to crawl is a neccessity.
Not sure who this little boy was, but he and Allie had a blast!
Glad he isn't at the age where he knows a girls bloomers shouldn't hang out of her dress!
Notice Mary Elliott changed clothes? Yep, that is because she decided to shove a wipe halfway down her throat, gag on it, and vomit all over herself and the stroller. Thankfully I threw in an extra outfit at the last minute.
There is something extremely humbling about standing on the sidewalk, cleaning up vomit with nothing but baby wipes and soothing a screaming 1 yr. old while 18 yr. olds in 5 inch heels and dresses up to their behinds pulling their coolers full of beer walk by starring at you.
Oh the joys of parenthood!!

I had a great time visiting with you Saturday. Your girls are so adorable!
i can't believe that you missed allie's jumbotron debut! william even saw it...he was the one that pointed it out! frank was holding her, and they were talking to bully. i agree about the MClub. especially good for hot/rainy days. or just when you don't want to keep your 1 year old in the stands!!
will you be going to the auburn game next weekend???
Sounds like Mary Elliott and Claire are a lot alike! I've been there cleaning up throw up and everybody is staring at you. The joys of motherhood!
you are CRACKING me up.....I will have to admit, it is quite humbling.
Russ and I have learned (the hard way) that it just isn't worth more than one time a year to take the whole family in this stage of life! We are planning to go sometime this year with them...probably homecoming. I hope to catch up with you then!
I think that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. We're going to attempt to take Sam to maybe the Kentucky game. We're hoping we can send him up to the skybox if it's too cold and let the grandparents take over! Your girls are soooo cute.
I love it. I would say that things have changed a little in the past couple of years. We only try and make it for one game with the children. I decided it is simply just not worth it! You are crackin me up though.
That is too funny! Love it!
I laughed out loud. I love reading your posts because I always laugh. We haven't been to a game yet but I am sure when we do go it will be somewhat interesting. I am so tired of always having spit up on me. Uh! They are too cute. I just want to squeeze Mary Elliot's cheeks.
I think we have the same feelings about tailgating these days! I think I blogged the same things!
That is to funny! Hang in there-- it does get better!
You are too funny! Love the sidewalk story!
